So my solution was play DAI first before Witcher 3 but the complete edition of Witcher 3 only costs $40 but DAI is $50 so I kinda feel helpless about it since I want to cut costs so it lead me to this thread. Since it was universally praised before Witcher 3, it just led me to believe that Witcher 3 just raised the bar of that genre that retrospectively it seems that DAI is bad in the eyes of people in comparison.

Ever since Witcher 3 got released though, more people are popping up criticizing DAI and nowadays most people tell me that its trash. It seems DAI was a great game especially with how it won goty on the year of its release.

Now comes my dilemma of choosing which to buy first. I was curious when I was reading up and watching reviews on both games as well as the general consensus towards both games. The third game in The Witcher series is an easy recommendation for anyone who wishes to get into excellent story-driven high fantasy narratives.While the game is a continuation of the series, its still definitely not required to play the previous games before experiencing this masterpiece due to how beginner-friendly and self-contained it really is.
